Diana in the interviewer's handMy work with Poser Pro 2012 began when I wanted to create a picture of my character, Gina, for my short story "A Conversaton with Gina Verucchio." Diana the Huntress is not a character from that story, although she does appear in it.

"A Conversation..." is a story in which Gina, an Electronics Engineer, is interviewed because of her contributions to the financial growth of Claudius Electronics. The company, among other things, manufactures and sells holographic quantum dot products.

Statue of DianaBecause quantum dots are not real atoms, items made from early quantum dot technology are much lighter than their appearance would suggest. To illustrate this point, Gina presents the interviewer with a small statue of Diana the Huntress. Although it looks to be made of bronze, it does not have the heft that would be expected. One of the pictures accompanying this post shows the statue of Diana in the interviewer's hand.

Creating this statue of Diana the Huntress was a lot of fun. Unlike Michelangelo's David, there didn't seem to be just one famous statue of Diana that everyone would recognize. Google Images presented me with hundreds of different statues. So I decided that any scantily clad maiden armed with a bow and arrows would probably be fine.

The statue was based on the Helena version of Victoria 4.2. She was coifed with Shigi hair and given an Earane skirt. Unfortunately, my Victoria 4.2 Suite didn't come with a bow and arrows, so I found something called High Fantasy Props that did. The bronze color was adapted from Real Metals' Old Bronze texture.
